Our Story

Gender Infinity is an entirely volunteer-operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

History

Gender Infinity was established by Colt St. Amand, PhD, MD, Bob McLaughlin, Ph.D., and Robbie Sharp, Ph.D. After traveling to the west coast of the U.S. to attend conferences, they envisioned an organization to serve the central southwest U.S. offering programs to build a broad safety network of professional services and family engagement to support the health and development of gender diverse children. With the assistance of a few volunteers, they established the first annual conference in 2011. They were joined shortly by colleagues Becca Keo and James Gonzalez, both now LMSWs, and later by Megan Mooney, Ph.D., child psychologist, to drive the organization forward. With a growing body of volunteers now numbering over 100 per year, we continue the annual conference and added additional services, including a camp for transgender and gender expansive children started in 2018, as below.
